You can take a short walk to the beach down a quiet road, kayak to the beach at the opening of Eastern Lake at the Gulf or take a short bike to the beach. Spend a relaxing vacation in a very quiet private apartment on the entire first level of our personal home, overlooking Eastern Lake. This spacious, 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage (the bottom half of our home) is nestled in a grove of scrub oaks, on a bluff overlooking a lovely coastal dune lake, less than two miles east of Seaside. The Gulf of Mexico is about a hundred and fifty yards away. You can venture to the beach with a short walk down the boardwalk at the end of the street. (you will have to wade across the inlet through thigh deep water, or you can use a completely "dry" access about 50 yard west of there). Or you can paddle there in the canoe and kayaks we provide. Eastern Lake has an inlet that periodically flows into the gulf, and it provides a wonderful place, much like a natural wading pool, that kids just love to play in. Deer Lake State Park is less than 1 mile to the east. All of Scenic Highway 30-A is connected by a pedestrian bicycle and walking path. WaterSound, Alys Beach, and Rosemary Beach are within about 6 miles to the east.
